This unique piece merges computational artistry with the timeless appeal of traditional pen drawing. Each design begins as algorithmic code, transformed into physical artwork through the precise movements of a pen plotter – a computer-controlled drawing machine that bridges digital precision with the human touch of pen on paper.

This print is a "study" and represents the exploratory heartbeat of my practice – more numerous and experimental than final editions, they serve as essential stepping stones in developing conceptual frameworks. These working proofs allow me to test parameters, refine algorithms, and push ideas to their limits without the pressure of creating a finished piece. Through their abundance, studio prints become a laboratory where visual concepts can evolve organically, each iteration informing the next.

The pen plotting process creates organic variations in line weight, ink flow, and texture as the mechanical arm guides real pens across the paper. These subtle imperfections and interactions between ink and paper ensure each piece in this edition is genuinely unique. The mechanical yet meditative nature of the plotting process produces drawings with a distinctive character that cannot be replicated through standard digital printing.

Due to the nature of pen plotting, each drawing features subtle variations in line weight, ink absorption, and pen pressure. These natural characteristics are inherent to the medium and celebrate the beautiful imperfections that make your piece one-of-a-kind.
